Membership

Thinking about joining the Rotary family?

With Rotary you don’t just become a club member, you become part of something much bigger. 1.2 million members around the world and over 45,000 in 1700 clubs throughout
Great Britain and Ireland. Each club focusing on assisting others in their local area, men and women enjoying the ability to make a difference.
Anyone over the age of 18 can join Rotary although those between the ages of 18 and 25 might prefer to enlist with one of the associated organisations such as Round Table or Rotaract which are specifically aimed at younger people starting out on a Rotary journey.

Rotarians are people who care.

How do Rotary Clubs operate?

Each Rotary Club is independent within a local district organisations, in our case Rotary Wessex. Rotary Clubs decide on how they will support their local communities while joining together to support larger projects as part of their membership of the Rotary District and Rotary International. Recently Rotary Wessex have been organizing a collection to support disaster relief in Torkey and Syria.

Rotary Clubs assist their local communities and other charities while its members also form long term friendships and working relationships. Rotary Clubs are well known and respected as supporters of their local communities.

Being a Rotarian is fun with friends while supporting others.

Membership Options

We view membership of Rotary as a long term commitment and would like the potential member to be comfortable with both the ethos of the club and the current members within it.

Anton Rotary meets weekly on a Thursday evening. The meetings take place at the Oak in Smannel where we have been resident guests for around 10 years. Each week we sit down to a one course meal and maybe a speaker. If appropriate partners will be welcome to join in on speaker evenings. Club business takes priority one night a month when future projects and ideas are discussed.
We like potential members to join us on around 3 occasions when they will gain a more complete view of what a Rotary does and experience the different types of meeting.

Corporate Membership

Introducimg an exciting new initiative, Anton Rotary can now offer Corporate Membership to small and medium companies operating in the local area.
Membership of Rotary helps companies comply with the regulations covering ESG and CSR while marketing them as socially aware members of the local community. This can assist with the companies image in the eyes of potential employees and customers.

Corporate Membership allows the company to become a club member and allows it to select an individual employee to represent them at all club meeting and events. A further 4 employees can be actively involved with the Rotary Club as associates who can attend club activities although they are restricted as to their involvement in the administrative operation of the club.
Corporate Membership offers companies an affordable way to engage with Rotary's local and International network

This offer is available for companies employing up to 100 employees. Larger companies can become involved not by direct club involvement but by through a process operated by RB&I.

Friends of Rotary and Project Volunteers

If you feel that full Rotary membership is not possible for you at this time, the club is always prepared to welcome ‘Friends and Project Volunteers’. This allows interaction with the members on specific projects or events. Once you feel comfortable with the club and its members you would be welcome to join with us and become a Rotarian.
